In our last edition of the Bookplate, we told you what we have been doing. We wrote about our 2010-2013 Strategic Plan. We reviewed our Strategic Initiatives and described our progress in detail. In this edition, we show you why we do it: Kim G. and her children, Will, Mike, Haley and Cia, were at the self-checkout station, ready to borrow a huge pile of books. Young Will looked ecstatic. When asked why he was so happy, his mom told me that they had been coming to the library every day for two weeks, waiting on the new design for the Children’s Library card to come in. Today it had finally arrived and Will received his own new card. I took a quick picture on my cell phone…
The look on his face says it all!
