4/1-4/30, DIY Program: Spinning Tops
See how long you can spin the tops before they tip over!

 Friday, 4/25, 5:30-8:30, Librarypalooza, All Ages
Join RFPL for our biggest event of the year! We’ll have a live storyteller show, a photo booth, balloon twisters, a dance floor for the kiddos, an after-hours DJ dance party for teens and more! We’ll also be serving up a free helping of ice cream. Don’t miss it.

Try some fun optical illusions. Can you believe your eyes?

Saturday, 5/3, Superhero Day, All Ages
Calling all superheroes! Put on your best cape and fly over to the library for a day of super-strength fun. Take a break from saving the world as you pick from these action-packed activities:
9:30-11 AM: Power Up Breakfast and Crafts
11 AM: Superhero Costume Parade
11:30-4:00 PM: Superhero Challenge Stations (at your own pace)
12:30-1:15 PM: Superhero Trivia (for 3rd Grade and up)
1:30-2 PM:  Watch a Cartoon—Batman
2:15-4:45 PM: Watch a Movie—The Avengers

Monday, 5/5, 7 PM, Pajama Night, Independent Readers Grades K-4
Too old for PJ story time? Wear your pajamas to the library anyway! Bring your own book or ask Miss Ellen for a personal recommendation. Pillows optional.

Tuesday, 5/6, 4-6 PM, Stop Motion Animation Workshop, Grades K-7
Lights… Camera… Action! Join staff from Steve & Kate’s Camp at the library for an afternoon of stop motion animation. Children will create characters, design sets, and film stop-motion masterpieces on custom-built, tabletop iPad stations. All materials are provided— just bring your imagination! Advanced registration is required. Call 708.366.5205 x312 or email childrens@riverforestlibrary.org to reserve a 30 minute session.

Saturday, 5/10, 10 AM -12 PM, Paws to Read, Grades K-4
Come read to Augie, a certified therapy dog! Reading to a dog can help build a reader’s confidence and encourage reluctant readers. Advanced registration is required. Call 708.366.5205 x312 or email childrens@riverforestlibrary.org to reserve a 15 minute reading session with Augie.

Wednesday, 5/14 & , Saturday, 5/17, 10 AM, Butterfly Story Time, Ages 2-7
Join us on the lawn for stories, songs, and bubbles as we release the library butterflies and watch them fly free. Wear colorful clothing and a butterfly may land on you!
