The River Forest Public Library offers targeted programs to meet community needs and interests as identified in our Strategic Plan. In planning and carrying out its sponsored programs, the Library aspires to meet the standards set forth in the Library Bill of Rights. The Library also recognizes that the resources available for the sponsorship of programs are limited and the selection, planning and implementation of Library sponsored programs ultimately rests in the discretion of the Library’s professional staff.
The library reserves the right to restrict program attendance. Programs may be cancelled, in advance or the day of, if minimum attendance is not met or due to unforeseeable circumstances.
Join us for coffee, stories, and play. Stories begin at 10:20 AM. For kids birth-18 months with parent/caregiver.
Join us for stories, music, and movement. For kids 18 months-3 years with parent/caregiver.

Wear your pajamas and bring a stuffed friend to our special evening story time program! For ages 2-7 years with parent/caregiver.
2/1-29, DIY: Paper Plate Aquarium Craft, Children of All Ages
Explore under the sea by creating a paper plate aquarium in the Children’s Room. Supplies will be provided.
Grab Dad and join us at the Library for crafts, books, and board games as well as tasty breakfast treats and coffee from Blue Max. At 10:30 we’ll all head upstairs for a fun story time by the fireplace. Moms, grandparents, and caregivers also welcome to attend with the children in their lives.
Calling all Minecraft builders, warriors, and fans! Head to RFPL to play Minecraft in a shared realm, and compete on challenges to win prizes. Advanced registration required. For kids in grades 3-7.
Come have a wacky good time as we celebrate the My Weird School series by Dan Gutman with crafts, games, and activities based on this fun book series. Advanced registration required. For children in grades 1-4.
Design your own tote bag at this fun after school crafting program for elementary schoolers. For kids in grades K-4.
Calling all budding toddler artists! Come listen to a story and make a related masterpiece. Advanced registration is required. For Ages 2-3 with Caregiver.
LEGO fans will be given a new LEGO building challenge each time we meet. LEGO bricks will be provided. Both sessions are the same, so please just sign up for one time slot. Advanced registration required. For kids in grades K-4.
Take a leap as you work on individual and team challenges and see if you have what it takes to compete with the people in the Guinness Book of World Records. For children in grades K-4.
