Friends of the Library
The library is here for everyone and the Friends are here for the library.
President of the Friends: Mary Liebner
The Friends of the Library (FOL) is open to anyone with a desire to support and promote the River Forest Public Library and encourage the lifelong pleasure of reading. The FOL is an entirely volunteer-run organization. The FOL sends a quarterly newsletter to all FOL members and funds and assists with mailing the library’s newsletter to all River Forest households. The FOL support youth initiatives by: presenting books to the summer reading participants, underwriting a Teen Advisory Board writing workshop, and sponsoring a summer wind-up event. The FOL sponsors stimulating programs for adults and children. Our membership is open to all and we welcome new members. By joining the Friends of the Library you are supporting your library and your community.
Our principal sources of income are:
The sale of adult book bags at $8.00 and library note cards at 10 for $4.00 (sold at the library), the library book sale, donations, and the $5.00 annual individual membership dues.
