Trustee Orientation
		June 21, 2011
6:00 pm

Call to Order and Roll Call
President Joan O’Connor called the orientation to order at 6: 28 pm. The roll was taken.  Present were Trustees Alice Calabrese-Berry, Genie Halloran, Mary T. Small, Thomas Smedinghoff, and Claudette Zobel.    Trustee Harley Beck is excused. Also present were staff members Sue Quinn and Joanna Bertucci.  

New Business	
a. Orientation of New Board Members
- Trustee Calabrese-Berry facilitated the orientation of new library board members.                                         Orientation topics included roles and responsibilities of Trustees, the Trustee/Director relationship,                    and the Trustee/Staff relationship.
- Sue Quinn, Head of Children’s Services and FOIA Officer for the library gave a presentation                              on the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act.
- President Joan O’Connor discussed the various aspects of the Agenda.
